Whistling bamboo arrows for normal bows, Yumi or hankyu. These can be used for archery.

Special whistling arrow called Kabura-Ya. The Kabura-Ya were used as signal arrows in medieval Japan during battles. In Shinto, the arrows are thought to ward off evil spirits by the howling sounds they make. It is used in Shinto cleansing rites of sites, shrine grounds, parks, etc.

These bamboo arrows are handcrafted to your order and specifics. All arrows have a horn nock suitable for kyudo strings and western strings. Arrows are suitable for 12kg-28kg bows (26lbs – 60lbs)
A bamboo arrow comes standard with a whistling arrowhead made out of aluminium or plastic. These are durable and easy to clean. The aluminium arrowhead is a modern interpretation, the plastic arrowhead is based on based on a Qing dynasty antique. The Qing Dynasty was the final imperial dynasty in China, lasting from 1644 to 1912.

The Kabura-Ya has 4 fletchings of two different birds.

• bamboo arrow from 75cm to 100 (-minus the arrowhead)
• horn nocks
• 4 feathers, swan, goose, bird of prey, turkey
• whistling arrowhead alluminium or plastic.
